There are many sources on the internet to find more information than I can possibly duplicate here but within this set of pages I hope there is enough to at least whet your appetite and quality links to other sites you may find of interest and use.

"Great hospitality, a perfect base for Dartmoor. Thanks." - Nigel, Southampton

Mysterious Dartmoor
Many people come to Dartmoor simply to explore, on foot, in saddle or by car and to see much which cannot be adequately explained - even by experts. Over 4000 years of human activity have created the moor as we know it now, much evidence is in plain sight but still more remains that is mystery .
Wistman's Wood - most haunted woodland in England, the home of the Wist Hounds!
The stonerow at Lakehead, Postbridge
There are al least 76 stone rows on Dartmoor but what were they for?

And stonecircles such as these two at Grey Wethers, not far from Beechwood, still bring about a fair amount of head scratching and speculation.
