Buckland Abbey, home of Elizabethan seafarer Francis Drake |
Many of our guests enjoy National Trust membership and visit not just the 4 properties that are within, or on the edge of, Dartmoor but also many in Devon and East Cornwall that are so easy to get to from Postbridge. The National Trust web site is really easy to use to find the properties that are of interest to you, be they historic like Buckland Abbey, arts & crafts style such as Coleton-Fishacre or industrial sites such as Finch Foundry, a water powered working forge near Okehampton. Greenway Gardens on the banks of the river Dart and Cothele near Saltash, east Cornwall are there for the garden lovers and of course the spectacular Whitelady Falls in Lydford Gorge attract the walkers.
