Traditionally a Devon scone would be one large round from which pieces could be taken, and that’s how we do it at Beechwood. Homemade and baked in the Aga the rounds are served whole for two people or in quarters for smaller servings. A quarter is about equivalent to one “modern” individual scone. Our pure Devon Clotted Cream comes from Langage Farm’s herd of Jersey and Guernsey cows on the southern edge of Dartmoor and is beautifully rich and yellow. Cream teas are usually served with strawberry jam but sometimes we can offer alternatives subject to availability.
Organic and local Our fairtrade and organic teas and coffee come from Clipper Teas of Dorset, lemonades from Luscombe Farm organic drinks and clotted cream from Langage Farm. The scones are of course homemade here at Beechwood. Groups We are please to cater for larger groups, walkers, families, clubs and societies up to 20 people but we do need advance bookings.
