Horseriding on Dartmooor |

Horseriding on Dartmoor can be exhilerating and challenging |
Almost all who ride horses and ponies, and we cannot include ourselves I'm afraid, would agree that riding across Dartmoor is hard to beat. You can ride out on the open moor, provided that it’s common land, trot along woodland trails and bridleways, or even follow in the hoofprints of ancient medieval traders along historic byways linking towns and villages. For the open moors however, it is most important that you know what you are doing. If you don’t have your own horse, or you're a novice in the saddle, there are first-class stables around the moor offering you a good horse, tuition and an experienced guide.

We are lucky to be able to recommend riding stables for the experienced as well as novices, all within 30 minutes and all offering 1 hour, 2 hour and half day rides out on the moor.

Bring your horse on Holiday
In 2008 we hope to be able to make use of our 3 stables and lower meadow by allowing horses and their owners to stay here at Beeechwood. There is some work left to do in terms of fencing, which should be done next spring but do let us know if you would like to have a horse and rider holiday at Beechwood and we'll tell you the situation. |

Livery would be DIY of course but we can supply hay and of course water. It would be most important to nesure that you know what you are doing and where you are going on the open moors, they can be quite dangerous for the unwary - both horse and rider! |
