Happy New Year from a very blustery and rain swept Postbridge. Like the rest of the country we are suffering strong gales and rain the bridge is just coping with the swell of water!!!
Snow
Yesterday we had the first attempt which came to nothing.Throughout to day again there have been some half hearted flurries.Our Christmas trees have now been decked and thankfully all the various lights still work.

Great evening run on three nights..lets hope there will be some more planned.The next event is a quiz at the Warren House on Dec.11th in aid of Wizz Kids!.

What a wonderful evening we had on Friday at Tavistock’s Christmas Dickensian evening – there is a wonderful display of Christmas Trees in St Eustace Church until 4th December – not to be missed…..

Feeding the Cake and other musings
What an inspiring morning brilliant sunshine,blue sky great for walking!However the day starts with feeding the Christmas cake with yet more Brandy…the pudding is already steamed and in the larder awaiting the big day.Digger Bob has suddenly taken to trying to get to Australia all over the garden..now called Black dog.
Autumn Days
With the change in weather brings the falling leaves.The colours are brilliant,orange,yellow,pale green browns and reds.BUT Oh the ever ending clearing of gutters and fall pipes around the house.The leaf compost patch grows ever higher.Of course Bob our young English Springer thinks its great fun dashing through the piles awaiting collection;meanwhile wise Monty looks on and you just know he is thinking’Stupid Boy’.

It occured to me yesterday as we said good bye to a family from Brest just how many guests had used Beechwood as a stop off either coming to England or prior to going over to France,on reflection the same applies to the Isles of Scilly.to take in the Dartmoor experience.
